The groundbreaking for the new museum was held on April 9, 1999. The museum is expected to open in October 2000 and will be located next to the Army Quartermaster Museum Fort Lee, Virginia. The new museum will be renamed the "U.S. Army Women's Museum" to appropriately represent all Women in the Army.
